Size:

The carat weight of a gemstone does not necessarily let you predict the exact size of the gemstone.
  Different gemstones will have different densities (mass per unit volume), and even though two gems seem to be the same in size, their weights could vary. Judge the weight of a gemstone correctly, and request the dimensions so most gemstone weight will be evident when set in a setting.
